HNHS Summer Journaling and Reading Challenge!

Hello Rising HNHS Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors,

Congratulations on completing the school year!

Ms. Kneeland and I want to encourage you to write and read for your own enjoyment this summer, so we are inviting you to consider taking on a summer writing and/or reading challenge.

What:  Read five books (100 pages each ) and/or write 15 pages in a journal

When:  Over the summer

Why:  (1) Have fun! (2) Win prizes! (3) Join other readers and writers at a celebration early in the first semester!  (4) Keep building your writing and reading skills over the summer! (5) Win endless appreciation and accolades!

See the more detailed information about the challenges shared in the document below.  Please also note that the reading challenge is optional and separate from the required summer reading for each grade level that all students must complete.  See the school website and the Back-To-School Information Packet (expected to arrive by mail early next week) for details about your assigned summer reading.

Please feel free to reach out to us with questions.

Have a wonderful summer!  We hope you enjoy the reading and writing of your choice, and that you have time to relax, to explore, and to dream.

Ms. Carson and Ms. Kneeland
