Holy Names High School, as well as all schools accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), have goals in terms of expected schoolwide learning results. The goals we will focus on in the above math classes are:
1) A Holy Names graduate is intellectually competent. She thinks critically and independently and applies these skills
in problem solving. She utilizes appropriate tools and technologies to locate, evaluate and present information. She
demonstrates intellectual curiosity and exercises her talents in pursuit of learning. She collaborates with others and
works cooperatively to achieve her goals.
2) A Holy Names graduate is committed to personal growth. She demonstrates integrity and honesty in her daily life.
She demonstrates respect for human diversity and dignity of all human beings.
We will accomplish these goals by working on problems individually and in groups. We will use graphing calculators, classroom computers, protractors, and compasses to help in understanding the concepts required to solve problems and in the analysis and calculations required to reach the solutions. |
