Word problems (assigned last week) (fixed 12/5 - sorry about the broken link!)
Note: If you want to fix anything on the assignment from Monday (which is worth 10 points), come during Study Hall: That would be great review for the quiz, too.
Extra Credit opportunity: Design a word problem that can be solved using a system of two equations in two unknowns. Explain how you designed the problem on one side of a page, and present a detailed solution including all six steps on the other side. 5 points for a good problem, for up to two problems.

All homework that was due on Thursday/Friday last week is due on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week instead.
Also, p. 49 #12-26 all, 41-46 all. Problems 41-46 are graphing calculator problems.
Graphing calculator quiz on Thursday/Friday!
Note: To access class powerpoints, go to the Math Wiki and log in with your wikispaces account from Biology - or create a new account. Then request access to the space and I'll add you asap.
Note 2: Remember that a list of steps for solving an equation by graphing each side is to be found here in the section titled "Solving equations with your graphing calculator."
It might also be helpful to go through the problems in this Hotmath tutorial. Start at problem 9. This tutorial is good for developing a starting familiarity with the calculator.
If your calculator keeps returning something different from what the lists of steps suggest, try resetting the calculator:
- Press 2nd and the + key to access the Memory menu
- Choose 7:Reset
- Choose 1:All RAM
- Choose 2:Reset
If you can not see your graph, remember to resize the viewing window by pressing WINDOW and adjusting the boundaries. To go back to the standard -10 to 10 window, a shortcut is to press ZOOM and choose 6:Zstandard
