Art students create mural for Oakland CIty Hall

On Wednesday, February 1st, students from Ms. Redden's art class participated in the grand unveiling of their Oakland City Mural, commissioned by City Auditor, Brenda Roberts. The students spent more than a year working on the mural, and it is colorful, energetic, and celebratory representation of our home town.

After the unveiling, the group was treated to a private tour of City Hall that included views from the upper floors, seats in the City Council meeting chambers, and a coincidental, surprise visit from Oakland's new Director of Public Safety and HNHS alumna, Venus Johnson '97!

The mural has been warmly received and will be enjoyed at City Hall for years to come. Congratulations student artists!
